Snowstorms bring us closer together

We started on YouTube in May 2017. 20 months later, we reached 100,000 subscribers on YouTube!

As far as our animals... we got a couple feet of snow and had to dig out a bunch of it just to get to our animals to get them fed.

We get contacted through Instagram to answer questions and we found a good one from BrookeLoguePhotography...

Advice needed from other chicken farmers! I strongly DISLIKE opening the coop in the morning at 6:30 am when the kids are at their dads. I even more strongly DISLIKE when I have to open the coop and my kids ARE HERE and not taking care of their responsibilities. And the WORST is that I can’t leave town unless someone is there for me to open the coop door. The hour before coop open, I toss and turn, in anticipation, knowing my alarm is going to go off soon to open the coop. Kind of like having a baby that you know is going to wake up soon and cry for milk. I know I sound winey (just like my kids) and I should be thankful I’m not walking out in snow-covered ground because we are in Florida. I started the chicken farming for my children to have a farming experience, because they were begging me for chickens, and after speaking to a lot of people who have raised their kids on farms and they say it’s one of the best things you can give to a child, the responsibility of caring for animals. I don’t understand 😂 We have totally learned a lot and bonded a lot over our little backyard city chicken farm, we have made lots of amazing memories with our chickens over the past year, and the kids have learned great responsibilities, but it isn’t always sunflowers and dandelions🙄. In the mornings, it’s always a battle and on top of trying to get the kids out of the house, we have chicken duty! I get upset at the kids about the them not fulfilling their part in our farm. Does anyone have any ideas on how we can make our mornings more peaceful and I can learn to love my chickens again, otherwise I have a chicken farm for sale 😂 . Our coop is inside of our chicken run which is 4 feet deep into the ground all the way around the coop. Is it really necessary for me to be opening and closing the coop or do you think it’s OK to eliminate that step, and leave the coop door open because they are secured in their run? Also, if anyone knows any chicken sitters that I can call for last-minute trips out of town, please send them to me!! {rant ended}

Along with reaching 100,000 subscribers, we wanted to give back to the community. We set up a giveaway for 10 people to win various prizes from us, with the Grand Prize winner receiving an incubator from Brinsea! Good luck on the giveaway! (Giveaway now ended)
