Hi, My husband and I love your Youtube channel. We have also got some chichens. 7 hens and 1 rooster. I have just noticed the rooster has some small black spots and I was wondering if you have any idea what this could be?
I am considering raising chickens for egg production (can't get behind the culling process yet but one day...). What breeds are best not only for egg production but for someone starting out? I will be starting small (no more than 6?)
The best for eggs: Leghorn, Australorp, Barred Rock, Rhode Island Red, Buff Orpington. There are also production breeds like Red Layers or Cinnamon Queens if you want to be guaranteed to have females.
I was wondering, where do you guys live? I know you lived in Kansas City before; are you still in Missouri? If so, are you ok saying around which area? (Asking as a fan living near St. Louis!)
Hi! I absolutely love your vids and am so of living vicariously through your farm adventures. I wonder if you would mind being sent some quail hatching eggs? https://www.hatchpoultry.com/collections/hatching-eggs/products/mixed-quail-hatching-eggs was the site I was looking at. I absolutely love seeing your hatching projects. Have you considered getting Rhea or Ostrich hatching eggs? Or adding any other ornamental birds to your farm? What about goats?
Not interested in quail at the moment, but that could change. Rheas and ostriches would take more space and fencing... we’ll probably get into some other farm animals first. But we might hatch them at some point.
@whitehouseonthehill in my opinion one or two 🐎 can really help if birds escape they will help cover more ground and help with the farm chores and they can keep the cows company. the breed I am suggesting is The Kentucky Mountain Saddlehorse
Hi, I am a HUUUUUGE fan. I am starting to breed budgies. I am 12 years old. I love raising animals. I raised butterflies and spiders before, but now I'm now doing budgies. I was just wondering when are you doing your next incubator giveaway, or if you have an incubator you don't need? <: I hope Bamboo becomes a dad soon!!! Tell Bamboo, Cashew, and the others that I said hi!!! (from Illinois) -(also if you can plz check out my video)

Hi, I am Burkley from Kentucky and I wrote you guys a letter back in June or July, and I saw on your Facebook that you read it, and I wanted to thank you. You are a huge inspiration for my YouTube channel Suburban Chicks. https://youtube.com/c/SuburbanChicks I would love to get to 200 Subscribers by the end of this year. That was my New Years resolution. Also how many eggs to you get dail? And what advice would you give a YouTuber who is just getting started out?
I've been looking to hatch budgie and cocktails in an incubator. The size of their eggs are about the same size as Buttonquail eggs. What do you think about this incubator? If you have any recommendations for me, my budget is around $100

Thanks for reading,
A Belgian fan :-)
Looks a little frostbite... has it been cold there?
@whitehouseonthehill thanks for the quick response. we did have 2 weeks of frost last month. But nothing extreme.
Is there anything I should to for him now?
I read online that I should rub Vaseline on the comb when it’s going to freeze.
Yes, that’s exactly what I’d do to help prevent further frostbite and possibly heal what has already happened.
